Come on Over

Whew! I'm outta breath. I just got back from running and did 18 minutes total - one 8 minute run, walk 3, and then a 10 minute run. I don't know what the mileage is because I'm running on streets. I suppose I could drive it to find out. That's an interesting idea. I listened to Shania Twain on my iPod. Good times.

I watched Dreamgirls with my mom last night. It was really good and Jennifer Hudson is amazing. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

I got a call about a potential job opportunity today. An old friend might have a position in her office back in the D.C. area. It would be so insane if I ended up going all the way back there. It still is just a possibility. But I figure her call will make me happy for the next 4 days. (At least that's how much mileage I think I can squeeze out of it :)

SWEET! You are kicking C-5K ass! You want to hear something weird? I was wondering what Shania has been up to these days. I was thinking that if she and Mutt split up, i would cry! I have such a tendency to feel close to people that I don't even know!

Hey Trixie,

I'm a lurker - I don't think I've ever commented before, but I enjoy and appreciate your writing as I struggle with my own weight loss efforts (I'm also doing WW, though I'm nowhere near goal).

I also took up running last year, and what finally motivated me to actually comment is that I have an idea for you to figure out your mileage - go to www.mapmyrun.com; it's a great program that will let you trace your route on the streets and find your distance!

Incidentally, when I started running a year ago I could BARELY huff and puff through half a mile. Now I can run about 15 miles a week, I've run five races (including a 10K!) and I'm thinking about training for a half marathon! So stick with it - if I can do it, you can too!
