Closet Cleaning

Water aerobics was great today! She kept us moving a lot. Definitely put the aerobics in water aerobics today. I am exhausted.

I had a momentous day yesterday. I took two garbage bags full of clothes that were too big to the thrift store. It was pretty d*mn cool. It also freed me to take another look at the clothes left behind and to realize there are more clothes that are too big that I'm holding onto. I'm going to take the rest of it (3 more bags, which includes 4 pairs of shoes and odds and ends) to the thrift store tomorrow or Saturday. It feels great to not be looking at those reminders any more. It's like I get a clean slate. In the future, I can buy what I like instead of just buying what fits. It's pretty exciting actually.

Hey, has anyone noticed their shoe size going down about a 1/2 size when they lose weight? I was always a 7 or 7-1/2 until I started gaining weight and then I moved up to an 8. Now I'm back down to a 7-1/2 ... weird, huh.

Way to go on getting rid of your old and bigger clothes! I've done it but I have more to do. I can't wait to get rid of more clothes as I lose. There's no going back, right! That's what ww says to do, right. Haven't been going to ww but I did like some of their ideas that's for sure.

de-lurking to say congrats! Doesn't it feel great to get rid of those old, bigger clothes? I noticed the shoe thing as well, just FYI.

Yay for sending the clothes away!

I changed a little in length in the foot, but not enough to go down a shoe size. I did have to switch from mediums to narrows, tho - took me a long time to figure out that shoes falling off of me didn't really have to happen.

Shoe thing happened to me too. And I have heard many other bloggers say the same thing. I too have gotten rid of all the too big things. I had a major cleaning out about a year ago - tried on every single thing in my closet and got rid of everything that I didn't want to wear or was wrong size. Interestingly - did not have the urge to fill the closet right back up. I have been VERY picky about what I have added/wear.

How gratifying is it to donate all those bags of clothes? Holy cow! Now you've got plenty of room to recreate your wardrobe...

I totally know how you feel about purging your closets. Good for you!

Also, I've gone back down into 8 1/2 shoes. I'd been in a 9 for many years. Also, I'd stopped wearing my watch when it got tight. It's back to fitting now.
