Of course it's not fair, but fat discrimination is alive and well in the job market. Losing the weight is no different than choosing an appropriately professional outfit for an interview, just a lot harder.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31480408.post-38780589705612231302007-03-07T17:25:00.000-05:002007-03-07T17:25:00.000-05:00jodi - thanks for your comment. It reminded me that I am living in the past, constantly replaying how people have treated me badly. I need to concentrate on living in the present.

dave - thanks for stopping by. i think it is great you have a concrete reason for your weight loss. i think i need to re-evaluate why i am losing weight. i need to figure out what quality of life am i going to get besides fitting into a smaller size.TrixieBeldenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10965306593682147429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31480408.post-47319159929305673442007-03-07T13:08:00.000-05:002007-03-07T13:08:00.000-05:00The primary reason I'm losing weight is because I ...The primary reason I'm losing weight is because I want to run faster and farther, eventually to run a marathon under 3:45. I can't do it with these extra 40+ pounds. Selfish? Maybe. But I don't want to be a fat runner anymore and I'm tired of running and walking with other fat people at the back of the pack.

I do believe that people have value at any weight. I don't believe (anymore) that I only have value if I'm fat because everyone I hang out with is fat.

Hang in there!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31480408.post-72218914618402839402007-03-07T11:30:00.000-05:002007-03-07T11:30:00.000-05:00you're not screwed up and you're not the bad guy -...you're not screwed up and you're not the bad guy - its easy for us to THINK other people are saying this and that about us... but in reality, they probably aren't and its just us over-thinking things as usual... and who doesn't want to be on the 'thinner' side? i grew up being picked last for the kickball team and red rover - those memories will be with me forever... but they won't delegate how i live my life and how i feel about myself right now - i have EVERY right to be happy, at any shape and size, and that's what i'm going to do...JODIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02805275154320491839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31480408.post-21513546301301977502007-03-07T02:52:00.000-05:002007-03-07T02:52:00.000-05:00thanks logical guy. it helps a lot to hear your p...thanks logical guy. it helps a lot to hear your perspective.TrixieBeldenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10965306593682147429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31480408.post-76445606687468942942007-03-07T01:58:00.000-05:002007-03-07T01:58:00.000-05:00If you tell yourself 1,000 times or 10,000 times y...If you tell yourself 1,000 times or 10,000 times you will start to believe it, whether it is true or not. I certainly told myself that I didn't deserve love, sex, affection so many times due to not having a relationship until I was 24 and it still affects me slightly almost 20 years later.

But there is nothing wrong with wanting to look in the mirror and thinking "I will look so hot when I weight ...". 99% of the human population have done that at some stage of their lives.

I'm sorry your conversation with your friend affected you this way.Logical guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07329916320052838947noreply@blogger.com
